Altavia n.4

The Altavia n.4 is a short trek that traverses the Dolomites from San Candido to Pieve di Cadore. It starts in the valley separating the Baranci and Tre Scarperi, at the end of which it climbs up to the celebrated Tre Cime di Lavaredo, that are eventually left for a crossing through the Cadini di Misurina down to Passo di Tre Croci and up to the Sorapiss, which is thus contoured along the spectacular Sentiero Attrezzato Berti that unfolds 1500m above the Valle del Boite, exiting at the bivacco Slapater, from which it descends to the lovely Rifugio San Marco, that is left for a traverse leading to the feet of the Antelao, that is finally traversed, with a magnificent view on the Marmarole, via the Forcella del Ghiacciaio. 11-14 September 2018
