eViole at Innocente

This gallery is from the first gig of the eViole [ay-vee-oh-lay] quintet, which took place at the Innocente Brewing Company (Waterloo, ON). EViole is an exciting project which takes XVII century's music to unconventional venues, such as cafes, breweries, and homes. The Innocente concert was dedicated to the 'Songs of Venus', featuring pieces about love and the goddess herself, mostly from women composers. The Venus lineup featured three singers, Sheila Dietrich (soprano), Corey Linforth (soprano), and Jennifer Enns Modolo (mezzo soprano), and two instrumentalists, Miriam Stewart-Kroeker at the cello and Borys Medicky at the harpsicord. The atmosphere was familiar, relaxed, and - as soon as the music began - incredibly charming and poetic. Check out eViole's website and facebook page!
